My name is Ali Cushing, and I'm honored to be a wedding photographer my couples trust to document and memorialize their beautiful day. My goal first and foremost is translating your romance and every aspect of your event into a visual story you'll carry with you long after the reception. No two couples, nor two weddings, are the same, and I approach each opportunity with personalized care.

I'm a wedding photographer who goes beyond the posing and formality and sees the moment amongst the composition. When I capture your wedding, elopement, or engagement, you'll see an inner spark of your character, a memory that makes you sigh in wonderment or nostalgia, and stirs something deeper.

What you can expect

All packages include complimentary consultation to put together your master timeline, ensuring there’s time for everything on your photographic wish list and how best to plan your day and/or session so that you can feel at east and not rushed regardless of what may come up. This gives us a chance to not only go over logistics and ensure I’m set to capture each element, it also enables me to make the experience a positive and enjoyable one.

Every image will be personally sorted, selected and edited by myself with a professional eye to curate your gallery, striking the balance of thorough coverage, variation, and telling the story. My editing style consistently perfects images for lighting, and compositional crop, and caters my color grading to the unique feel of each couple and event, rather than uniformly applying a signature preset to every wedding. A sunny day will feel bright and sunny, a color scheme along any spectrum will be complimented. A couple that appreciates moody, whimsical, or film vibes will see those qualities integrated into their outcome.

You will have full personal and printing rights to your images, which are delivered via a shareable online gallery, in both high-resolution for full scale printing and a file size optimized for easy digital sharing.

Delivered photo quantities are most directly a reflection of the length of coverage, but other factors do impact this number; from the stamina of your guests on the dance floor, the nature of your decor, to the amount of lighting available during an evening reception. I take all of the opportunities I can, even if it means dramatically over delivering. Whatever the case I determine my package estimates on what the minimum I believe I can achieve even under challenging conditions.

I want you to get to ride the high of your big day as soon as possible, so I provide sneak peeks within 72 hours of your I Do’s. Even during peak months I aim to deliver even the largest galleries within 8 weeks of the wedding, and sooner when my editing queue permits.

Travel

While I am local to the NYC and Hudson area, I am delighted to travel all over the country and internationally when the opportunity arises. Package pricing is quoted without travel costs, which naturally range on the distance and mode of transportation. Whether by car or by plane I aim to be transparent and upfront about costs and reasonable in accommodations.

In 2023 I photographed weddings and engagement sessions across NYC, New York state and New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Las Vegas, and New Orleans. In 2024 I’m looking forward to be adding Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, North Carolina, Chicago and more to that list.

Some places I’ve been eager to work in are the entire West Coast (my home state is WA and I have soooo many good spots for sessions all up and down the coast), Hawaii, and National Parks virtually anywhere. Getting married somewhere particularly scenic? Let me know! There’s a good chance I’ll work out a discount with you in exchange for the opportunity. Same goes for international locations (someone please bring me with you!)

  • Simple, half day wedding (6 hours) starts at $3000

    For the wedding with a brief ceremony and reception, not much focus on preparation, and balancing couple coverage with guests. This package is for those not much interested in frills. Simply capture the moments of the event as they come and maybe sneak away for some quick couple photos. Perfect for those on a budget and preferring a low pressure experience.

  • Essential Wedding (8 hours, 1 hour engagement session) starts at $3500

    For the low key couple looking for full day ceremony and reception, with some getting ready photos. The 8 hours of coverage is fully yours to spend on whatever you like, whether that’s bridal party preparations to having first looks, before the full ceremony, having a private, pre-reception couple’s shoot, or planning for an afternoon start time that runs late. Best for weddings that have a standard ceremony and reception, with photography coverage balanced throughout, and for guest counts in the 125 or under range.

    Perfect for couples outside of NY wanting a premium service and extra time to focus on the details. The 8 hours of coverage not only provides a relaxed timeline to capture preparations, it allows for simultaneous coverage, som travel between venues or to sneak away between the ceremony and reception for some extra special location photos for the couple while still capturing the cocktail hour good times.


    Premium Package includes:

    • 2-hour engagement session

    • Two wedding photographers

    • Full digital photography coverage

    • Supplemental film photography coverage

    • On going planning support, timeline development

    • Sneak peek album within 72 hours

    • Hand-selected, carefully edited high-res photos

    • Print release and shareable online gallery

  • Deluxe, Full day wedding (No time limit, second photographer, 2 hour engagement, 2-hour bridal session or rehearsal dinner - $7000)

    For the couple wanting to go all out. In addition to the complimentary 2-hour engagement session, the 12 hours of coverage provides leisurely time to capture a full day of events from the bridal party having brunch, all the way through to the hugs goodbye late into the night. The additional time is particularly beneficial for an extended couple’s session offsite.

    Deluxe Package includes:

    • 2-hour engagement session

    • 2 Hour bridal Session or rehearsal dinner

    • Two wedding photographers

    • Unlimited photos

    • Full digital photography coverage

    • Supplemental film photography coverage

    • On going planning support, timeline development

  • Micro Wedding/Elopements

    For the intimate, non-traditional wedding. Perfect for celebrating with a small group of loved ones in Central Park or on the side of a mountain, or the whimsical elopement at City Hall, the Micro Wedding package places most of its focus on the couple.


    Micro Package includes:

    • Everything from City Hall to epic adventure options available

    • One elopement/wedding photographer, serving as a Witness if desired

    • On going planning support, timeline development

    • Extended hours of coverage options available

    • Full digital photography coverage

    • Supplemental film photography coverage

    • Sneak peek album within 72 hours

    • Hand-selected, carefully edited high-res photos

    • Delivery within 4-8 weeks (depending on season)

  • There's no standard way to have a remarkable elopement, whether it's on the side of a mountain in the PNW or halfway around the world. Let me know what you're planning and I'll put together a custom quote for you, including cost of travel. (pro tip: Going somewhere scenic? Let me know! I'm likely to discount your price if it's somewhere I'd love to go!)

Wedding Package Add-ons

  • 1 hour bridal session - $300

    2 hour bridal session - $500

    If you’re wanting to invest and focus on some amazing photos of yourself outside of the busy schedule of your wedding, while also getting a chance to have a run through in your full bridal look to refine your plan for your big day, there’s no better way than a bridal session. Take an hour or two (or more if you like) to choose a unique location, get to relax into the experience, and make sure we get all of the shots you want of you looking amazing, without having to juggle a whole day event at the same time. Then, show them all off during your reception.

  • Because I recognize the importance photography and videography each have in their own right as a service and form of documentation of important moments, requiring a tremendous amount of skill and investment in video-specific equipment, I am unable to juggle both while working solo. So adding videography to your packages comes in the form of sub-contracting a videographer for the day, with myself editing and delivering the footage as a curated video along side your photos. Pricing will vary depending on the length of coverage you’re interested in, location.

The Thrilling Prerequisites

About to pop the question? Capture the thrill of the moment they say yes and follow up with an impromptu engagement photo shoot immediately after. You’ll be fully supported and provided with professional insight through the planning process. I won’t just be your photographer, I’ll also be your assistant and emotional support/cheerleader.

Already engaged? Choose an Engagement Couple’s session to capture your love for use on Announcements, Save the Dates, and Invitations, and just to be cherished by friends, family, and hanging on the walls of your home.

Surprise Proposal

  • Surprise proposal + 1-hour engagement session packages start at $400

  • Provides hands-on proposal planning support, including a necessary, in-person and on site, consultation meet up to go over the details of the plan, and the staging of the moment

  • This photographer is flexible and knows you’ll want the day to be special and the photos perfect; so the day of I’ll scoping out the location, keeping an eye on the weather, and being in touch about arrival times, knowing that you can’t rush an unsuspecting partner. The plan can be adjusted as needed.

  • A private, online gallery with hand-selected and carefully edited high-resolution photos for you to download, print and share on social media

  • 30-50+ photos, all artistically edited and refined for crop, color, and lighting

  • Photos delivered within 2 weeks of the engagement

  • Sneak peeks with all proposals to share your happy news right away

Engagement

The meaningful memories don’t start at the alter; whether it’s an engagement celebration, a bridal shower, a special ceremonial event (of any culture), or a rehearsal dinner, it’s a part of your engagement and wedding saga too.
